HBA Brings NBA Basketball World Camp to Pennington
The Hopewell Basketball Association is excited to bring the nationally popular Basketball World Summer Camp to Pennington, NJ this summer. The camp, which is run by former and current NBA coaches and scouts Hal, Scott and Paul Wissel, will run the week of June 28th to July 2nd. They have 38 years experience conducting basketball camps and clinics. Each camper will receive individual instruction (one staff member for every eight campers) and a personal evaluation of their skills, so sign up now as there will be limited enrollment. The camp will be held at the Timberlane Middle School Gyms from 9am to 4pm. The cost of the camp is $275 per camper. Boys and girls from 8 to 18 years of age can attend. The Votes Are In and Again
For the 3rd straight year the Shoot it Better Mini Camp has gotten 2 thumbs up votes from parents and campers. NBA coach Hal Wissel has done it again. Hal Wissel has turned 24 campers in to shooters if they follow his 21 day program. HBA will be asking coach Hal Wissel to come back for a 4th camp next June.

HBA opens new sister website for Travel Basketball and AAU Basketball
Hopewell Basketball has decided to open up another sister website www.hopewellbasketball.org. The .org website will be hosting all the travel basketball and AAU team info and schedules. Another reason for the new website is that HBA is going to try and run a Spring Travel Basketball League along with there successful Spring Hoops Program. The Spring Travel League will start in April and end in late May or early June. Teams will start in the 4th grade to the 8th grade range for both boys and girls. The website will host the travel standings, box scored and game schedule a HBA trade mark. Stay Tuned for more to come ….

Shoot it Better Mini Camp
It’s Official, for the second year in a row the Shoot it Better Mini Camp got 2 thumbs up from parents and kids. You can not beat the price if you want to learn to shoot the basketball the correct way. NBA coach Hal Wissel gave personal instructions to 36 kids on how to shoot the ball the correct way. The Shoot it Better Mini Camp is a 2 day camp consisting of learning the fundamental of shooting. The kids learned positive self-talk, relaxation, visualization, and concentration and goal setting. HBA is considering bring Coach Hal Wissel back to run a full week camp in Summer 2009. More to come as we get more info.
HBA Opens Doors to 3rd and 4th Graders.
It’s official, HBA will be opening our doors to all 3rd and 4th grade boys and girls come this fall 2008. Now HBA will be accepting registrations for our Winter Hoops basketball program from grades 3rd to 12th. HBA has accepted the 3rd and 4th graders in there Spring Hoops program for the last 3 seasons. But in fall 2008 our Winter Hoops Basketball program will be growing.
One may ask why play basketball for HBA? Well for a number of reasons, first we are dedicated to just basketball, not other sports. We offer more basketball programs then any other organization in Mercer County. Our coaches all have played organized basketball and know the game and are ready to teach your child. We offer more games for less money and have no membership fees. We have 6 to 8 free clinics a year where your child can learn more about the game. Our website is updated daily with write ups, box scores, game stats, leading scores and action pictures. Our website has the game schedule posted, NBA daily news, practice schedule, the game rules, current teams and more. If you want to lean the game, play HBA.

Hopewell U-9 All Stars The Hopewell U-9 All Stars took on the Trenton U-9 Boys Club at Hopewell High School last night. The Hopewell U-9 All Stars won 19 to 17 after 32 minutes of play. True Alton scored 7 points, Zack Dowdie scored 5 points, DJ Rice scored 4 points Galvin Johnson and Andrew Davanzo both added 2 points each. Pat Nally had 3 assists,and 2 rebounds, Danny Kolanohad 2 assists, 2 steal and 4 rebounds, Andrew Mormile had 4 rebounds and 1 assist. In the coming weeks the Hopewell U-9 All Stars will travel to Trenton to play the U-9 Boys Club at there home court. More to come on this later.
HBA Credit Card Registrations.
Hopewell Basketball just made life a little easer for everyone. HBA will now be accepting major credit cards, Visa and Master Card. All programs that HBA will be offering will have the Visa and Master Card icons at the top of the registration page.
Just click on these icons and it will take you to the online registration page for credit cards. Just fill in the info and submit it. With in 5 minutes of completing the registration you will receive an email conformation of registration

HBA is gearing up for the fall/winter basketball programs, which can be seen on the News Page. Very soon HBA will have online registration and we will be accepting major credit cards for all our programs. HBA is now accepting registrations for the Winter Hoops Basketball program. HBA has been working hard in bring the community to bring you the best in new basketball programs. With the success of the Shoot it Better mini camp with NBA coach Hal Wissel. HBA will be looking to bring this camp back again next year. Camper who attended gave this camp two thumbs up. Keep an eye out for the next camp.
Adult Men’s Basketball League – 30 years of age and over can play in this league. Team roster must be no more then 15 players. Game s will be played on Monday nights at the Timberlane Middle School. Cost $
